CPC Brooklyn Branch Health Fair @ IS 220 this Saturday

Dear all,

Good morning!

As the world rapidly begins to change in the year of 2012, there is still a constant need: health.  More and more immigrants are making their way to the Sunset Park community and not all of them have the knowledge or access to proper healthcare services.  Language, education, and anxiety are some of the many factors that inhibit the community from maximizing their standards of living.  In order to address this issue, the Chinese-American Planning Council, Inc. (CPC) Brooklyn Branch has organized annual health fairs in the past two years to allow community members the opportunity to gather information from participating health related organizations and facilities, to take advantage of free health screenings/consultations, and to enjoy various activities.

In hopes of offering the same opportunity to our existing and newly arrived members of our community, CPC Brooklyn Branch will hold its Third Annual "Better Health, Better Life" Health Fair on Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 11am to 3pm.  The event will take place at the CPC Beacon Center at John J. Pershing School I.S. 220, located at 4812 9th Avenue Brooklyn, NY 11220.  It is again our hope that through this event, the immigrant population in our community will be able to expand their knowledge about healthcare and learn how to take better care of themselves.  There more than 1,000 community members attended the Health Fair in the past years.
Best Regards,
