Learning Environment Surveys

In February, the New York City Department of Education will give the annual Learning Environment Survey to every parent, teacher, and 6-12th grade student citywide. The survey helps school leaders understand what key members of the school community say about the learning environment at each school. The information captured by the survey is designed to support a dialogue among all members of the school community about how to make the school a better place to learn.
The 2014-2015 version of the NYC School Survey is aligned to the
DOE’s Capacity Framework. The survey will collect vital information about a school’s capacity to improve student achievement by measuring the extent to which each school incorporates the six essential elements— rigorous instruction, supportive environment, collaborative teachers, effective school leadership, strong family and community ties, and trust—that drive school improvement and develop students to compete in the 21st century.  The survey will be one of multiple measures used to help the DOE assess the six essential elements.

To find out more information about last year’s Learning Environment Survey please look at IS 220 page @

Please be on a lookout for GREEN survey envelope after mid -Winter Recess in February

Pupilpath is an online website that I.S. 220 teachers and administrators are using to provide parents with up to date information on student’s progress, missing homework and attendance. Parents have the ability to communicate with teachers directly using the messaging system included in the portal. Parent Coordinator uses http://pupilpath.com  to e-mail parents important school and community information.

If you need login information please see Ms. Jasinski in room 211

Parents! Remember, students are required to read for 35 minutes every day, and complete reading response logs according to the teacher’s directions. Grades 6 & 7 - 5 reading response logs, Grade 8 -10 reading response logs. That is part of their homework assignment.
