On Friday January 9th an email was sent out to teachers regarding an opportunity for middle and high school students to go to their local movie theaters to view the movie SELMA, for FREE. With only one week of free viewing allotted, 7th grade teachers quickly took advantage of this opportunity and were able to secure 100 free tickets. On January 13th 90 students went to the Bay Ridge Alpine Theater to see the movie SELMA in commemoration of Martin Luther King Jr. day.

We are truly grateful for this opportunity.  Students were moved, reminded, inspired, and became knowledgeable of the events that took place at this turning point in history.
